[FR] Un petit volume intéressant, avec lequel l'auteure et artiste belge Helcanen inaugure une série de petits journaux de voyage, qu'elle appelle "Helcanen on the road" ("Helcanen sur la route"), avec des matériaux photographiques riches, de sorte que pourrait facilement être appelé un album photo de voyage.
Le livre a une esthétique vintage, qui émerge grâce à (et est mis en évidence par) les nuances sépia des photos et de ses pages, mais aussi par les fonte de caractères choisies, qui ressemblent à un texte tapé dans une machine à écrire, ou la composition manuelle faite avec presses à imprimer métalliques; l'auteure nous informe que la même esthétique sera suivie dans les prochains volumes également.
Cette première revue rend hommage au Japon, pays de destination préférée de l'auteure, à la zone du quartier de la montagne Hyōtan (Hyōtan-yama) de la ville de Ōsaka, en particulier; cette est encore une des originalités de cette série: il présentera non seulement les grands zones bien connues, mais surtout les petites coins moins connus, principalement du Pays du Soleil Levant, mais aussi d'autres pays.
L'écriture d'Helcanen coule facilement, avec une bonne dose d'humour, quand c'est nécessaire; de plus, son regard photographique se révèle perspicace. Un petit livre, en effet, mais je suis très heureux de l'avoir lu!
[ΕΝ] An interesting small volume, which with the Belgian author and artist Helcanen inaugurates a series of small traveling journals, which she calls "Helcanen on the road", with rich photographic materials, so that could easily be called a travel photo album.
The book has a vintage aesthetics, that emerges thanks to (and is highlighted by) the sepia shades of both the photos and the pages, but also by the chosen fonts, which resemble a text typed in a typewriter, or a manual typesetting made with metallic printing presses; the author informs us that the same aesthetics will be followed in the forthcoming volumes, too.
This very first journal pays a tribute to Japan, the author's favourite country, to the area of the neighborhood of the mountain Hyōtan (Hyōtan-yama) of the city of Ōsaka, in particular; that's one more of the originalities of this series: it will present not only big and well-known areas, but mainly smaller, lesser-known corners, primarily of the Land of the Rising Sun, of other countries, too.
Helcanen's writing flows easily, with a good dosage of humor, when needed; also, her photographic look proves to be a perspicacious one. A small book, indeed, but I'm very happy to having read it!
[ΕΛ] Ἓνα ἐνδιαφέρον τομίδιο, μὲ τὲ ὁποῖο ἡ Βελγίδα συγγραφέας κιαὶ καλλιτέχνης Ἑλκανὲν (Helcanen) ἐγκαινιάζει μία σειρὰ μικρῶν ταξειδιωτικῶν ἡμερολογίων, ποὺ ὀνομάζει «Ἡ Ἑλκανὲν στὸ δρὀμο» ("Helcanen on the road"), μὲ πλούσιο φωτογραφικὸ ὑλικὸ, ἔτσι ποὺ θὰ μπορούσε εὔκολα νὰ χαρακτηρισθῇ ταξειδιωτικὸ φωτογραφικὸ λεύκωμα.
Τὸ βιβλίο ἔχει μιὰ αἰσθητικὴ παλαιϊνοῦ (βιντάζ/ vintage), ποὺ ἀναδύεται (κὶ ἀναδεικνύεται) ἀπὸ τὶς ἀποχρώσεις σηπίας (sepia) τόσο τῶν φωτογραφιῶν, ὅσο κιαὶ τῶν σελίδων, ἀλλὰ κὶ ἀπὸ τὴν ἐπιλεχθείσα γραμματοσειρά, ποὺ θυμίζει κείμενο γραφομηχανῆς ἢ στοιχειοθεσία στὸ χέρι μὲ μεταλλικὰ στοιχεία τυπογραφείου, ἐνὼ ἠ συγγραφέας μὰς πληροφορεῖ πὼς ἡ ἴδια αἰσθητικὴ θὰ ἀκολουθηθῇ κιαὶ στοὺς ἐπόμενους τόμους.
Τοῦτο τὸ πρῶτο ἡμερολόγιο εἶναι αφιερωμένο στὴν Ἰαπωνία, ἀγαπημένη χώρα τῆς συγγραφέως, συγκεκριμένα στὴν περιοχὴ τῆς γειτονιᾶς τοῦ ὄρους Χυοτὰν (Hyōtan-yama) τῆς Ὄσακας (Ōsaka)· αὐτὴ εἶναι μιὰ ἀκόμη πρωτοτυπία τῆς σειρᾶς: θὰ παρουσιάζῃ ὄχι τόσο μεγάλες κιαὶ γνωστὲς περιοχές, ἀλλὰ κυρίως μικρές, λιγότερο γνωστὲς γωνιὲς, πρωτίστως τῆς Χώρας τοῦ Ανατέλλοντος Ἡλίου , μὰ κὶ ἄλλων χωρῶν.
Ἡ γραφὴ τῆς Ἑλκανὲν εἶναι ῥέουσα, μὲ μιὰ καλὴ δόσι ἀστεϊσμοῦ, ὅπου χρειάζεται, κιαὶ τὸ φωτογραφικὸ της βλέμμα ὀξυδερκές. Μιὰ μικρὴ ἔκδοσι, μέν, εὐτυχὴς ποὺ τὴν διάβασα, δέ!
